To start this, I'll be honest: ICT-Programming was NEVER my first choice. Past Jamie wouldn't even have thought that she'd enter the technology field. What she would have planned is how she'd enter the medical field, because my passion is psychology. I dreamed of becoming a psychiatrist and/or a neuropsychologist. However, BS Information Technology is part of the top 3 courses that I'll possibly take.
Then the pandemic happened, and realizations have been added to the equation. Due to this, I changed from wanting to take up HUMSS to taking my current strand, which is ICT-P.
Am I satisfied? Yes, as of now, I can say that I am satisfied and happy. I feel like I belong where I am, and due to this decision, I have met wonderful people. Maybe it is still too early to say this, as it is only our first semester (but almost finished). However, I can tell that I will have fun with my chosen strand.
So if you are currently experiencing a time where you are wondering whether this is a strand made for you, especially since you may not be too techy, let me calm your thoughts. ICT-P is a strand where you can enter without too much knowledge. As long as you know how to use a phone and a laptop, you are good. This strand is made so that you can learn the basics so that when you enter college, you'll be equipped with the knowledge that would help things be a little easier for you to adjust as well as give you the chance to keep up with the workload.
